No go for TARRC...and Master G's role in it

FOR the TARRC no-go, we give thanks to Master G, YBs in the august house of Parliament, Citizen Nades, Berita Harian's Ahmad Khawari Isa and a few individuals I'm not at liberty to give due credit to or expose.

Master G is the whistle-blower, the Deep Throat, who started it all.

TARRC is the Tun Abdul Razak Research Centre in Brickendonbury, outside London, which was identified by the previous Sports Minister as a possible kampung away from our kampung for our national elite athletes to enjoy having roti canai, nasi lemak and teh tarik before they compete.

The local council shot the proposal down in November last year and yesterday Datuk Ismail Sabri Yaakob pulled the plug on it.

More on Master G and the chronology of events...later

In the meantime, enjoy reading these

I got an honourable mention from Citizen Nades. Tq

Bro, doesn't all of this make you think. What will they come up with next?
I guess we won't ever find out how much was spent in actually just figuring out what to do with Brickendonbury. The many trips there, trial use by some national teams..etc.etc..
A few people will surely terasa pedas after reading Nades' column.. hehehe..

I am glad that eventually good sense prevailed, for if we are dictated by rationale we would know that no training centre in the world can turn mediocre talent into world class athletes. Remember this: You can train a plough horse to run faster, but it will NEVER be a thoroughbred race horse.
Our immediate task is to go back to the basics. We are 40 years behind Europe and the US in sport, and 20 years behind the best of Asia. And if we still don't realise that we have to demolish the entire house and start rebuilding it from Ground Zero, then will be sinking further into the bowels of our own ignorance or arrogance.
And before we accept the offer by Marlborough College, let's first scour the country to unearth the best talents, because the true gems have become invisible to a system that has for the past two decades taken the short cut, the easy and convenient way out, and made a lot of money in the process for people who in their haste to build their bank balances left Malaysian sport virtuallly without any reserves.

Bro Good news

But Lazarus Rokk and his company was also canvasing for some job in
Brickendonbury, they were tryin to get in touch with Murali Menon and etc... so when they did not get the project they are against it.
Ask rokk to grow up la, maybe he should look at himself before critising others.
Anyway good story Rizal, and Nades story was excellent as well
Keep up the good work bro .

I agree with Rokk mostly, but surely not from ground zero. If we look at where we are now, then Rokk's grouses on the way our people operate should tell you that it would take us at least 170 years to get back to where we are now!!!

Zal, gua tak biasa buat komen dlm blog camni but u r someone whom i m rather familiar with ('cept the part that u r famous) so i take my chances here this time. Hope u dont mind. Gua rasa kan, the people in charge of Malaysian sports in general really lacks the enthusiasm, ambition, honesty, professionalism dan macam2 lagi. Football is a good example. Kita dah sesat jalan kot. Mana pergi dengan all the excitement? Dulu jam kita baru nak naik, main dengan kaki ayam aje, tapi Malaysia masih boleh bersaing dengan Korea la, Jepung la, Iraq, dll lagi. Mana pergi dengan cita2? Semuanye macam agak kabur dan kurang jelas. Gone with the wind. Hangat2 tahi. Pada aku, not 'proper' lah. Team belasahan. Sesat kat mana tak tau . . . . I dont know if such an important thing like this was ever listed under any of the so called (grand) 'national visions'. Entah lah bro aku ni asyik mengeluh aje kan. Ok. Take care. Later . . .

mr anonymous,

You dont get it do you, we didn't pitch for any jobs at Brickendonbury because One we were against it, and two even if we wanted to, it was reserved for cronies, aides etc. I even heard one of the aides pitched for the laundry job and got it. Again, its bad enough you dont have the guts to show your face, but you still havent got your facts right. I lost contact with Muralee two years ago. I lost contact with him eversince he was appointed adviser to the chair of the Cabinet Comm for Sports. And why should we pitch for jobs with muralee when it wasn't his project. Shouldn't it have been with the Ministry. Anyway I wll grow up if you promise to grow some balls. Actually Rizal, I am getting quite tired of having to respond to assinine remarks made by faceless, ball-less people. I can tell this gutless person is a journalist, and he obviously must have been one of those who was easily forgotten, highly insiginificant. Poor bugger, eaten by that dengki factor. By the way after this I am switching off. All the best my fellow Johannian. A word of advice bro, try to block out personal attacks, and unsubstantiated claims in your blog. That was your training as a journalist and i don't think it should be any different as a blogger.

Dear Bung Rokk,

We have chosen to live by the sword, Bung.

So we have to die by the sword. Hahaha. Jangan marah!

Screw the anonymous la Rokk n Rizal. People have mouths so they will talk. They can hide behind "anonymous" so they will.
Yes Rizal, some of us chose to live by the sword. We chose to take all the shit and we just shut up and be on the receiving end, then carry on.
In any case, I don't see anything wrong with Rokk pitching for jobs or contracts right now as it's his business. He's not in journalism anymore. If he was doing it blatantly while still on the job like some of us, then that would be wrong.
So Rizal, since you're out of the line, also be careful where you pitch for jobs. Some former adversaries might just come in here and screw you upside down with some story. hehehe...

sekali otai sport bersuara la pulak...

dah la...apa yg lepas biarlah lepas...buat apa nak cite pasal HPTC lg...kalau dibukak balik fail pun belum tentu lepas...

apa kata kita tgk beberapa projek yg lebih berfaedah....

apa kata pembangunan fizikal diberikan lebih kpd daerah yg memerlukan...dan jika hendak diisi...isi dgn cara yg betul...jgn lepaskan batuk ditangga...

apa gunanya training jauh2?...kalau infrastruktur dah ada ditambah dgn pengisian yg betul...tak mustahil lbh byk juara dunia mampu terhasil...

kita ambik cth org kenya...nape diorang boleh jd champion marathon sedangkan negara dia tidak sehebat kita...

kita pulak jgn lupa...ada atlet kita yg bagus dan bermula dr fasiliti kelas ketiga...ambik cth pelumba basikal mcm anuar manan...dia hanya seorang pemuda kampung...tp mampu menggegar dunia basikal...dan tak salahh kalau benda dan cara betul diberikan kpd anuar...tak mustahil dia akan jd sehebat lance amstrong..tak gitu arnaz?...

kita berbangga dgn kompleks sukan negara....tp kita gagal menghasilkan atlet bertaraf dunia....

apa kata sesekali pg tgk fasiliti di daerah atau kampung...teruk...

kita kena ubah mind set...jgn ingat semua benda diluar adlh baik...sebenarnya byk lg yg baik dlm msia ni....

sy merupakan salah seorang yg tersenyum bila baca berita hptc dibatalkan....kerana satu hari sy nak tgk msia menghasilkan produk first class yg dihasilkan di malaysia....

jd buat semua...belilah barangan buatan malaysia....pergilah melancong..semuanya ada disini...
