Mazlan back in the mainstream?

My former colleague Norbakti Alias from Berita Harian believes former National Sports Council director-general, Datuk Wira Mazlan Ahmad, is set to be appointed as chairman of the Sports Advisory Panel (SAP).

Mazlan, for the record, did not see eye-to-eye with the previous Sports Minister. The moment he retired in August 2005, NSC began to spend, spend and spend.

read http://www.sun2surf.com/article.cfm?id=21355 for Terence Fernandez's take on the previous Sports Minister

Lets hope he makes the right decisions and doesn't make decisions based on croynism and neopotism as what he did when he was the MSN director. Just to remind him 'lets play on a level playing field'. What we actually need now are people who are qualified in SPORTS to run sports in the country. Then we can take the step to move away from celebrating our "achievements" in the SEA games and actually achieve something in sports at least at the Asian Games. With the facilities that we have in our country, we should be on par with most countries at least in Asia.
