MAAU's wreck-ords

Still waiting...

I honestly think the Malaysian Amateur Athletics Union (MAAU) have a nice website although it was updated the last time in December 2008.

My main concern is why some of the national marks are not ratified, most notably hurdler Shahadan Jamaluddin's 51.28s en route to the men's 400m gold medal in the Manila SEA Games in 2005. Go to the MAAU website and the men's 400m hurdles record still belongs to Kedah's M. Ravinthiran (51.83) set in 1996. But if you surf the IAAF website here which is the world body's official website, 51.28s is clearly indicated in Shahadan's biography.

For the past two editions of the Malaysia Games (Sukma) in Kedah and Terengganu, Ravinthiran's mark is still considered the national record!

Without a proper statistician helping them, MAAU's notorious reputation of not ratifiying a national mark with immediate effect is certainly justified! Even a simple thing like updating the national records is beginning to be insurmountable for MAAU.
