Conversing with an Olympic champ

On Friday Dec 11, loose cannon was handed the chance to speak with Elena Dementieva, the world No 5 and reigning Olympic champ on the phone, with the conversation be recorded at the MixFM. At 9.30am sharp, the phone rang. Wow, talk about discipline.

She sounded humble, a bit like her compatriot Maria Kirilenko, and was excited with the prospect of celebrating Christmas with her parents in Malaysia.

"I've read a lot about Malaysia on the Internet. I believe it's a nice place."

The conversation lasted 12 minutes. Can't wait to meet her in person.
