Bon voyage, Awi Part 1

The sports fraternity recently bade bon voyage to Ahmad Shapawi Ismail, a man considered the schemer, implementor, strategic thinker and one of Datuk Wira Mazlan Ahmad's most trusted lieutenants when the former was the director of international preparations at the National Sports Council (NSC).

The 45-year old Kuala Lumpur-born is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Sports Management in the United Kingdom.

It is likely that Awi's luggage contained lesung batu, among others

schemer, implementor, strategic thinker ...Schemer yes....implementor and strategic thinker ...not so sure lah...To think strategaically you must have sound knowledge of the subject matter...in this case sports...attending his meetings..I realised that his knowledge of sports is more toward adminstration (like a couple of his right hand men in MSN). Hopefully, when he returns with his Masters in SPORTS MANAGEMENT...he will realise that development in sports should be done by people with a sound knowledge in Sports SCIENCE. I reserve my judgement.
But at the same time I wish him well as he has the will and desire to improve himself. Good luck!

Dari Bac Sains Pertanian ke Sarjana Pengurusan Sukan. Selamat Maju Jaya, bang.

Rizal, what's the meaning of Pt 1? You're sure he could finish his studies there? Hardly heard him spoke English, shudder to think of his writing's profiency. Malaysia Boleh!
Pt 2 could be him returning home early or continuing to PhD?

anon 12.32am,

as long as one can communicate effectively and get one's message across, in whatever languange, i think that's adequate. we don't need sports administrators who speak proficient english but who lack managerial skills, vision and ideas. Almost two decades of covering sports in Malaysia, i know those who are proficient in English hide their apparent weaknesses by using BIG words or scientific terms...style over substance. There are also quite a number of them in the world of sports journalism. You could be one of them.

mat sabu, apple polishing is part and parcel of life. It happens everywhere, in Berita Harian, the Malay Mail, the NSC, the UMNO supreme council, the Pakatan Rakyat, the Olympic Council of Malaysia, everywhere...Datuk Zol already has a degree, since he's the Director-General of NSC, allow him the space to do his job lah...as for integrity and human development, perhaps you can start by using your real name instead of that of mat sabu.

Awi is only wants gold medals in Sea Games, just to please the public. So he started the Back up in MSN and uprooted the development programmes of the 8 core sports. So now the back up officials are having a good time travelling as managers which should be done by Association officials, just wasting government money.
At least after is masters he should realise that Development Programs are important and should be handled by experts in MSN or ISN. Not just handing over to Ministry of Education. They can't even handle PE lessons they want to handle development programs. Anyway good for AWI to upgrade his Development Knowledge in Sports.

You should check the back ground before you talk.

Sukan Teras is no more and it is good to have KPM helping develop in the grassroot.

What about NSC officer going as manager?? cannot?? why you want to go also?? we know la persatuan people using sukan teras program to go around the world. First class but claim they only volunteer. what teh heck
