Ah...Zinedine "Yazid" Zidane, how I miss his balletic grace!

From the moment he came on as a sub in August 1994, scoring two goals - a screamer from 30 yards and a header to hold Czech Republic to a 2-2 draw to his audacious penalty kick against Italy in the 2006 FIFA World Cup final, Zinedine Zidane gave me immense pleasure. For my fellow football purists, enjoy Zidane's 31 goals for Les Bleus...

..thank you, lc..I am not a purist..a sentimentalist, perhaps..but watching Zidane scoring those goals made me misty-eyed..of what might have been for Malaysia..
..vuvuzela-ing in Bachok..and enjoying it..fooled along with Brazil, as once was Don Quixote, by the windmills..cheers

Thank you. He was a true ten.

For me, he was Mr Spock of the field.

The best striker so far in this world cup has been David Villa, a journeyman who is not even fit to carry Zidane's kit bag. Mind you, Zidane, in my opinion, ranks far below Michel Platini and Bryan Robson.
