Do you have to be so patronising over Hawari? Sounds a bit pathetic-lah! SAM is what it is today because a lot of others helped reveive it. yet, what is see is a bunch of clowns, trying to make themselves important-including Hawari.Tell me. What happened to the balance of the money from the sale of the house in Peejay? Alamost used up isn't it? Is this what management is all about? Instead of investing that money is something for the benefit of the members, the bunch of losers that you are, used it to fund SAM's activities. Brother, SAM always found other sources to fund its activities. It never used its savings. You were also part of that circus, were you not Rizal? SAM lacks any vision. Handing our awards is not ALL what SAM stands for. By the way, how many former members, those who served in SAM got invited to the function? Only the likes of Fauzi Omar, right? yet, this bum of a president, screwed SAM big time with his insipid leadership.SAM used to be a model association. Today, it is just a mirror of the worst sports bodies that are. Well, it used to be that sportswriters had stnadrds once. Today, there is no need for that.Even the good guys like you have a price, Rizak. Right?Have a nice day.

R.Vengalapudukan, if that is your real name, which I doubt very much,

1. Sale of house in PJ was in 2000. Under president Shaukei. I dealt with the lawyers, went through the documents, pointed out a few mistakes and settled it on behalf of SAM before I quit.

2. Shaukei quit in 2002. Then came Mustakim and Abu Bakar Atan.

3. Khawari took over last year.
He and his exco managed to sell a few tables, the awards were sponsored by 100 Plus. SAM made money out of the awards.

4. Give Khawari a chance. Before this, there was little regard given to SAM by its own members. He's trying to rejuvenate SAM. By getting SAM in the limelight, its a good start. Media coverage and its value is a plus point in sourcing for sponsorship.

5. Instead of pouring scorn at people's effort, try to think objectively and give credit where is due.

6. Next time I challenge you to use your real name. Ada berani ka?

7. Look at me, I am Muhammad Rizal Hashim...OK? Ahmad Khawari Isa also has his own blog...

8. If you are a blogger masquerading as an anonymous commenter, good for you. hide behind it!

10. no balls?

Pakmat, it depends on who the bloggers are. some have agenda, some write bukan kerana nama...

Dear R Vengalapudukan,

Thank you for your interest in SAM. Whatever the opinion, good or bad, shows that SAM is back in people's mind. And I am happy for it.

Just to set the record straight, I took over the SAM leadership in August last year and my mandate will be over this coming May.

When I came on board, SAM was not in healthy condition. There are no income-generating activities. And yes, the practise then was to chip, bit by bit, whatever money left in the fixed deposit to fund Association's activities.

We, the current exco, has stopped that. Since we took over, we didnt spend or organise any activities if we have no money.

Alhamdulillah, we manage to organise two events - Buka Puasa and SAM Awards 2009 - without even touching the FD.

For you information, for the first time since a long time, SAM Awards 2009 will report a profit, the numbers which we will table for the knowledge of all members in the next AGM.

Dear Mr R Vengalapudukan,

Different people have different ways of doing things. The current exco might differ from the previous ones, simply because we have other priorities which we set when we took office.

For the current Exco, our priority is 'giving back' to members. We give 40% of annual grant that we receive from Sports Ministry in the form of prize money for SAM Sports Journalism Awards.

We subsidize 65% of the sports jacket for each member. We are now exploring, together with Sports Ministry, the possibility of sending our members to be attached to major media organisation which are official broadcasters/ newspapers of major sporting events.

And yes, we also try to 'fatten' SAM kitty. In short term, we are now looking at minimum RM30,000 to be credited into SAM FD annually. We hope this numbers will increased, especially when more sponsors are aware of SAM presence and credibility.

Dear R Vengalapudukan,

Building and positioning a brand will not happen overnight. As a Management student, I understand that. I do hope you too, sir.

The number one priority is to get all members to embrace SAM once again. SAM will not control what members want to feel or say.

What we hope to achieve and foster is the unity, irrespective of whatever conflicting views we have, under one banner -Sportswriters Association of Malaysia (SAM).

Thank you

Lot of words! Typical of some of us. But you never answered my question about what happened to the balance of the money from the sale of the house.

Just saying you quit after the sale was concluded is not a suitable explanation. More like a a cop out!You never asked what happened to that money or how it was being spent, all this time that you remained associated with SAM.Right? This my beef. Then, you actually went on to blame others the situation mess. This is the thing about SAM. Every bloke is blaming the duffer before him for all the ills of the association.Just like how, until today, we have not got a proper explaination for the AIPS Congress accounts.Oh, I forgot. That was under Fauzi, Johnson and friends.
Muhammad Rizal Hashim, be objective.Fight for the truth, even if it has been unearthed by someone else.It is just not Hawari that you have been patronising of late.Since leaving the Malay Mail. this is your new style, it seems.Just an observation, nothing personal.Kita sama-sama kritik, K?

Ok. Maybe, I have been a little harsh on Hawari.I withdraw my remarks and will give him a chance like you asked.Maybe he is the anointed one, the man to take SAM back to its glory days, when it showed the way for others.Just a small request to Hawari who has responded to my comments elsewhere in this blog. Can we not stop taking money from KBS and the likes. It does look unethical does it not.

How can we as sportswriters play a positive role when we remain beholden to others? Rightly or wrongly, this is what out position is at the moment.
Well, you said it right Hawari - see Rizal, I am capable of giving credit where it is due - SAM is a great brand. We need to market, not prostitute SAM.Ok, Muhammad Rizal Hashim, cool it. Maju-lah Sukan Untuk Negara.Maju-lah SAM untuk demi kebaikan SEMUA ahlinya.
Jangan marah lagi, Sdr.Muhammad Rizal Hashim.Kita sama-sama meperjuangkan kemajuan SAM dan sukan negara.

p.s.sorry-lah.Terpaksa jadi anonymous.Saya ini, shy cikit.

The question on the balance of money is a question you must ask the office-bearers. I was an ahli biasa of SAM who continued to be a member who probed these questions openly either in private or in public.

And how do you contribute positively to anything in this world when you baling batu sembunyi tangan? throwing wild accusations and allegations without properly introducing yourself...

Sdr.Rizal,
Tak-apa lah. Whether you are an ordinary member of Exco, you still have a responsiblity to ensure that whatever took place under your watch is properly handled. Otherwise, you question. I am quite sure I have NEVER heard you ask any question on the issue concerned at any time before in an open forum. Why in private by the way? When it comes to national associations or any other body, you still demand an explaination from then, right? You still talk about Azalina right? So, how different is SAM?This is hypocrisy, right? Worse than throwing stones without showing my hand?Wah, I think I hit a raw never with my remarks, bro! Never seen you react this way from working together dulu. I see you pick and choose who you kritik these days.I have something to say about this but for another day.For now, I am converted.
Saya PROUD SUPPORTER OF SAM!

Sdr.Rizal yang cerdik, pandai.Maaf-lah.Saya ini budak baru belajar, kalau salah tolong tunjukkan.ok. ya.Kita akhiri, debat kita, setakat ini. Lots of other things we need to check instead of each other.By the way, kalau salah tolong jangan malu nak kritik-wapaupin Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. This is the Education Minister cum former Sports Minister who is trying to improve sport in schools. Can you please remind him that these days, schools cannot have their sorts day as they don't have a padang-even a tiny one.How to improve sport then? Sudah-lah! tell him, sports can never regain its past glory as long as the nations leaders have a tendency to sell every grass patch they see. There are far too many self-serving rascals in sport these days- just like there are sportswriters who pick and choose who they want to criticise.Kena cari makan-kan?

There is always an untold reason especially when a person who is passionate in his work resigns. Whatever the reason, it should not be swept under the carpet otherwise it could cause a negative chain reaction. What is a martial art association without the spirit of trust and a heart for genuine administrators and instructors who has the passion for the art?
From the start( wlthout prejudice) in TM I believed then, that there were three groups who have different philosophy for Taekwondo. My suspicions are proving to be correct and the truth is prevailing.

Dear Members,
It is time for me to move on. TM is in stable hands under the leadership of Tunku Imran and your elected EB Board as well as TEC Committees.
I hereby announce my resignation as your appointed SG submitted by letter yesterday 25th January 2011 with my last day being this Thursday.
I thank the President for the appointment and all of you for the support and collective effort in making a new beginning for taekwondo WTF in Malaysia. It has been a pleasure working with you all.
If I have offended anyone of you in the process of carrying out my duties, please accept my apologies.
Thank you.

Dear Delegates and Members of TM,
RE : DECLINE OF NOMINATIONS FOR TAEKWONDO MALAYSIA TERM 2012-2014
I thank you all for the nominations which I received for the term 2012-2014, for the forthcoming AGM.
I am however unable to accept the nominations as my Club Universal Taekwondo & Martial Arts Club has been suspended by Taekwondo Malaysia effectively ending my involvement with TM. It will be most unethical for me to re register with a new club in order to contest in the elections and therefore I must most respectfully decline.
I will however keep my options open when this matter is resolved in the future as I have your interest and of taekwondo at heart.
I trust that the forthcoming elections will be fair and that all the delegates will choose wisely. There still exists many factions within Taekwondo Malaysia but I hope that you will choose candidates that can truly lead and unite all the members, and let there be a free and fair members association that takes care of all the members interest at heart.
I give my support to Datuk Samson Mamam who has previously worked tirelessly and efficiently to establish TM as a home and a place for Taekwondo in Malaysia. It was our intention then to not only unite the three previous associations but to also unite the three teakwondo fratenity. We still have a long way to achieve our vision but nevertheless I leave it in your good hands to take teakwondo in Malaysia to greater heights.
Thank you and selamat berjuang.
Mohamed Nazim
Thank you and regards
