From My Dinh, Hanoi to Bukit Jalil, via LRT

Terkenang detik buat liputan Sukan SEA di Hanoi...di luar Stadium My Dinh, where I bore witness to Nazmizan Muhammad's historic 100m and 200m sprint double and Syamsuri Mustafa's stupendous goal! Bersama Norzie Khasbi, Utusan Malaysia. Kalau bulan 12 di Hanoi memang sejuk...

Fast forward to 2010, Rabu lalu, aku menumpang kereta Zaimi Ridzwan...dia dengan tiga heronya

Kami menuju ke Stadium Nasional...Tren penuh dengan penyokong Malaysia lah

Liverpool die-hard (pity him) Bernard Chong and his brood, plus of course Liverpool fan-turned-French supporter Zaidi Barkis (confused of his real identity) with his clan, were already waiting for us

First time I've seen a pseudo-Frenchie selling burgers outside the National Stadium

But once I'm inside the stadium, I have to be seated among the Press la...(from left) Fadzrie Hazis, sports editor of Astro Awani, Ismadi Abdul Manap, sports editor of TV1, Zaiful Ariffin, executive editor Astro Awani (masih menikmati paternity leave selepas baru dapat cahaya mata bernama Putri Aisyah) and The Star's Eric Samuel, also vice-president of Sportswriters Association of Malaysia (SAM).

My old friend from Vietnam, Quang, hoping Henrique Calisto's side would at least snatch an away goal...

From left (front row) bottle, Haresh Deol of Malay Mail, bottle (hehehe) and Devinder Singh of New Straits Times. Belakang diaorang hos Formasi dan pengulas tersohor Zainal Abidin Rawop and Harimau Muda goalkeeper coach Yong Wai Hwang.

The view from the press box

more than one hour after the match, we were still in celebratory mood...my shoes, courtesy of Zaimi from Dubai (hehe), pants self-sponsored...jersey (...)

The following night, I was invited by the Sudut Pandang team to discuss the AFF Cup...

Did not take Anas to the stadium...brought him to Awani studio instead...for Sudut Pandang hosted by Haji Nazri Kahar, with former Armed Forces player Azfendy Azzuddin as my fellow panellist

where I stated my firm belief the team would advance to the final

A pity though that some of us go to great lengths to promote the Chelsea v Man United clash...but little promo of the Vietnam-Malaysia match...bahasa Malaysia, makanan Malaysia, banner Malaysia, restoran Malaysia (mamak)...jiwa tak Malaysia...

The last picture says it all, I was a bit sadden to know that Bukit Jalil wasn;t full for the semi.

I hope to be back for the 1st leg semi in Bukit Jalil and then onto the 2nd Leg in Jakarta.

Come on Malaysia!!!

Semoga blizzard di UK berterusan sampai liga Malaysia kick-off, so that org tak tgk EPL, instead tgk Liga M, and terus lekat kat liga M. Kalau ikut hati gua, gua letup otrefed, enfil, stempedbrij ngan emirets, padan muka those yg buat duit ngan pumping EPL into Malaysian TV.

It's great on Malaysia's recent success advancing into AFF finals. But its quite funny...that the national football team was also been heavily been criticized by the public as well. I used remember where most people don't even want to know about the national team game at all. What ever the result or outcome in the 2nd leg Indonesia, we have to continue supporting our national football team.
