IN what is a carbon copy of the Sultan of Selangor Cup and the Sultan Kedah Cup, Perak has come up with their own version for the veterans itching for action, called the Perak Cup.
On May 28, this Friday to be exact, footballers who had in the past worn the Perak and Selangor jerseys would renew their rivalry.
Among those keen to wear again their boots are Azlisham Ebrahim, Hadi Tahir, Shamsul Amri Abu Bakar, Hairil Zamril Rashid, Shahril Arsat, Shahrin Majid, Mubin Mokhtar, M. Chandran, Lim Chan Yew, Nazzab Hidzan, Aiman Firdaus Tan Abdullah, Rauf Ahmad, Yuzaiman Zahari, Azlan Meri, Zami Mohd. Nor and Ahmad Shahrul Azhar Sofian.
There will also be a friendly match between RTM and TV3 on 9.30am the following day, followed by Majalah Stadium Selection against an Artiste Selection (11.15am). The magazine team will be strengthened by the presence of former Perak, Selangor, Kelantan and Armed Forces striker, Khalid Jamlus, now in limbo without a team in the M-League.
The event is organised by Manifest Media Sdn. Bhd, the publisher of Majalah Stadium, Perak State government and Radio Perak FM.
