May I suggest...

1. that instead of sending K. Rajagobal's team for overseas attachment, find ways to place our 15-16 year olds to neighbouring countries. The cream of the crop be identified and dispatched to Europe, not necessarily England lah. The average age of Rajagobal's team is 21, where the tactical and technical behaviour of a player is already formed.

2. that we send qualified coaches to oversee the academies

3. that we employ qualified coaches for schools as basic training on technique and skills is crucial during the formative years

4. that we make sure the sports-science support system is in place at schools so that we do not lose good talent as a result of negligence

5. that we make sure every team have a training ground to call their own, like Persada Plus owned by KL PLUS (but they are rich, eh)

6. that we develop our coaches, send them to be members of technical study groups and ask them to submit their analytical report

7. coaching curriculum must include - passing, shooting, trapping or control, crossing, finishing, running with the ball, turning, running off the ball, creating space, transitional play, set plays. So where from? Europe, especially France and Holland.

8. that we have year-long leagues for Under-12s, Under-15s and Under-18s

9. that the FA of Malaysia be tasked with the Road Map (where's Robert Alberts' Road Map), provide technical expertise for all levels, organise national level league for various age groups

10. that the Education Ministry introduce sports and football as major activity all year long at primary level and introduce a unversity league that serves as the third tier after the Super League and Premier League

11. that the Sports Ministry help run the junior leagues through community services via Jabatan Belia

12. that the Sports Minister take the trouble to seek the opinion of France Football Federation technical director, Gerard Houllier, who is coming to Kuala Lumpur to conduct a coaching course on Jan 27-29. We don't have to spend so much gallivanting in Europe with a big entourage tagging along and pretend as if they are taking notes while thinking about what to buy at Harrods or Hamleys.

13. that we send our footballers to England only to watch the EPL matches, nothing more. After all, read Trevor Brooking's concerns here.

14. that we ponder this comments from Steve Coppell

"English football is not set up to reproduce 1966; we are set up to produce European champions at club football. The big teams in the Premier League are looking after themselves. If you were starting football again, you wouldn't have an FA and a Premier League - it would be one body.
I am concerned about England. We have not got a great history, so why should we expect to be elite? Perhaps the success of the Premier League has given us false expectations, because our teams, based almost entirely on foreigners, are doing well in Europe."

Then probably the Minister can justify the RM60 million development fund allocated for football!

Anyway, read the Bernama report, English lessons in the Malay Mail, the RM60 million fund and golden team for attachment.

How about scouting team? I believe we don't have a good scouting team which can identify not only good talents in Malaysia but Malaysias who are abroad like Wan Kuzain (US), Tam (Japan).. and I few others in UK and Australia.

I couldn't agree more. Meluntur bulur biarlah dari rebungnya. The U23 team are already moulded and shaped. The SSBJ teams on the other hand need to be focused on because they have so much potential.

No point being hyped about the current U23 team if there's no standardized development program being carried out throughout the country.

Footballers come and go. Everyday we see some new talent surfaces. Just like these players, after a few years they'll be replaced. But the question is do we have good enough, skillful enough, brave enough, and dedicated enough players out there to replace them?

Only FAM will tell

Ello menteri..kalau menang fikir kementerian sendiri..jenguk2lah kementerian pelajaran tu..takkan bila kalah je nak sergah mereka.

And how about sending one or two of the better one's (I mean Rajagobal's boys) for trials at Japanese/South Korean/Australian or even Indonesian clubs... no need to waste money on an EPL training stint. They don't even have to be first division clubs, the J2 or the Kleague.

The boys need game exposure at a good level. Personally I would think it would even be better if they stay in the MSL... training and the real thing are two different things.

Surely FAM can arrange this. If the boys aren't good enough they'd have to come back after their trial. It's as easy as that. I remember a time when FC Aarau of Switzerland wanted Affendi Julaihi.. tolonglah FAM. I'm begging u... jangan BODOH!it's a waste of money. Please realise this.

Look at Fandi Ahmad. He never went for a training stint, he went to play in the Dutch league instead...

Why only sports school? How about others? Government make sure there are fields in all schools, Residential areas and don't take away club fields. Our football will make comeback like in the 50's,60's,70;s and 80's.We will get thinking players not robots. The players must go to the field not they are forced to the field because of some extrinct motivation like just SEA games RM30,000.00. The passion must be there.Players like the late Mokhtar and Arumugam went and trained on the field to don the Malaysian jersey not just to win SEA games gold medal but make sure every attempt they made was wanted Malaysia to qualify for Olympics or the world cup.

Bro Rizal,

All they have to do is to look at the good work done by the organizers of the National Junior Community Football League - Piala Sultan Ahmad Shah. FAM and the Sports Ministry should fully support this guys and build on the League nationwide.

The league has proven to be a success and is even shown on ASTRO. The whole of Malaysia is talking about the Junior League and the young talents.

They organizers have got the formula right, teams are from community based junior football clubs/academies which are mostly run by parents and ex-state/national players. There are about 100 of them in Klang Valley and many more all over the country.

The main ingredient is there - Parents involvement and support. Just like the American grass-root sports structure where parents and the community play an important role. Remember the word "soccer moms".

Kalau dah menang dulang emas semua keluar. Sure bet la akan lebur lagi duit rakyat berjuta-juta akibat keputusan hari ini mcm 4 tahun lepas bila KBS decide labur dlm skim cepat kaya Champion Youth Club. Aku bet 5 kupang sure lebur punya. Baik kbs spent duit hidupkan liga di peringkat kg mukim ke parlimen ke lagi berbaloi utk masa depan bukan sekaramg tapi future. Nak harap sekolah sahaja susah juga sebab tumpuan pada akademik dah macam2 timbun atas batu jemala pengetua tu. Sekolah sukan?? Ermmm x payah la debat sangat. Pengetua satu hal. Takpe la lupakan saja. Yang penting look at bigger picture la tuan pemerintah. Aku setuju kalau budaya main bola dihidupkan diperingkat akar umbi. Peringkat komuniti. Amboi cam ahli politik. Fam kena la open your eyes wide..jangan jadi burung belatuk sua je angguk. Liga parlimen kbs dah senyappp... Bagus tu bagus tapi bila ahli politik masuk campur hok RM40 ribu pun dia nak kebas. Kalau betul2 buat liga sure kita akan maju dlm masa 5-8 tahun. Kalau karnival satu hari hancus la.

The decision to keep the under 23 side is certainly not development. Its is fishing for further glory after the sea games victory. lets be honest, when you have politicians or civil servants behaving like politicians then Malaysian football will never get uut of the pits. our standard of football is still very much behind the power house of asia let alone the world. what are they trying to do, keep the team and pray alot hope for them to succeed. just scout the youngters, they are our future. NOt the the current

HARAP DGN BANTUAN KERAJAAN KUALITI PADANG DI MALAYSIA DAPAT DIPERTINGKATKAN.. CONTOHI JEPUN N KOREA..
