OCM conference

One of our biggest drawbacks is our inability to accept criticism in good spirits. This applies not only to the sporting fraternity but Malaysians in general. Detractors are seen as being up to no good. Probing questions are usually discouraged. Intellectual discourse is few and far between. Anyway, loose cannon hopes the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) Conference on January 23 can offer something different.

Excerpts taken from OCM's blog here

From 'Good' to BETTER?!
Kawan, how better can a rubber stamp become? Ya tak ya jugak..Sekarang Ada inking rubber stamp ye.

What service or diservice is OCM giving to it's affiliates.
OCM only exist still in Msia coz the IOC doesn't recognise Msia NSC or KBS. Apa lagi dia orang buat selain drp cop borang2 penyertaan ke temasya sukan antarabangsa.

Bila persatuan sukan Ada masalah Ada OCM tolong..? Peluk tubuh sajalah.

OCM is a good organisation, that SHOULD be overall in charge of sports in Msia. It's just that the OCM Board just wants to look after their personal interest and only seemed to be concerned about sports and it's development whenever its their election time.

Sejak last OCM election, what development or assistance or kursus or training programme has OCM conducted for Makaysian sports. Ya lah training and athletes preparation are not their concern BUT how about Good Governance, Ethics etc..?

Conference is good la.. But jangan buat just as eye wash. Many issue in sports can be addressed. Saya harap, jgn dia orang limit discussion to what is poltically correct only.

Knowing Tunku Imran punua Cara.. I hope he can proof me wrong la.

Tahnuah saya nak ucap kerana berani buat conference sebegini. Harap capai objektif. No need to be better..just be a Good NOC of a soverign nation. Do what is right without fear or favour..have good conscience..care for sports and not just for personal growth and business. Groom other men and women to become good sports leaders for the future of the nation. Don't be only concerned with the number of portfolios one carries after theIr name.. After all how much can one really do. Dint be selfish la..gives others a chance

Can anyone enlighten me on the structure of OCM. Who reports to who and who is the ultimate decision maker.

I was advised by my buddy to google up the Olympic Charter la. Ok I will do that. Encik Rizal, maybe u can do that too and enlighten the sports people on the role and function of a NOC in a country.

Encik Rizal, After I read, we compare notes Ok.

By the way. Happy 2010 to you and all your readers.
