Between TF and TG...

When everybody else was playing on grass, Queens Park Rangers (QPR) bucked the trend and installed astroturf or plastic pitches as they were known in the football circle. This was in the early 80s, or 1981 to be exact, the year Malaysia and Malaysians were engrossed with the Kuwait debacle (you know when we lost 4-0 to Kuwait in the pre-World Cup and six players were subsequently dropped). Many suffered carpet burns playing at Loftus Road. Today, a Malaysian is the majority shareholder of QPR. He has money to burn.

Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, or TF lah, is now synonymous with Formula 1, football and high society. High flying tycoon. Read here and here

TF is in it purely for business and pleasure designed to raise his profile, having had sponsorship ties with the Premiership referees and Manchester United at one time. If he has time, TF could look into Ash Hameed's progress...read Orangeman's take on the chap here

Now, read about Datuk Chan Tien Ghee, or TG, chairman of Cardiff City hereherehere and here

TG

It's a pity Cardiff City missed out on promotion recently, otherwise the word Malaysia would have been seen all over world.

Now, let's hope there is something for Malaysian football la, bits and pieces cukup lah...but I don't see our elite footballers getting direct benefit from the two clubs. My take is on Cardiff City to establish links at youth level and organise friendlies between the Welsh club and the Malaysian national teams.

That's the difference between TF and TG...

Salam bro Rizal

AYUH TF, AYUH RIZAL kita mulakan lah!!!

Tengok masa Proton sponsor Norwich, pengurus The Canaries pun ckp pemain - pemain kena ikut prosedur yang betul. Selamat Menyambut Al Qadr..

Bawak Lah Player Malysia Ke BPL

Bro Rizal, both deals it seems has no direct impact on our football. TF bought QPR because its cheap and its a London club. So for a man that knows how to make money..thats a great buy. And as owners, money is to be made if they stay at BPL or promoted to BPL..that will be their ( QPR/CCFC) main target. Cardiff City came and did support our National Junior League...and did send their coaches here. BUT the Cardiff coaches that are here are only Community Coaches..and their drills are basic, plus youth players get only a session with them. What can a player get from just 1 session? The best they can do..that is if they want to do it is to go all out to find a bunch of talents in Malaysia, age 12 below, send them to their respective academy to continue studies and be coach their way. That it will have an impact on our national team in the future. Its easier said than done. I know as 1 of my Cameroonian talent, 14 years old..scored 37 goals in 13 matches in U14 National Junior League co organized by Cardiff...Fantastic talent, but Cardiff is not interested..so what are our local boys chances..? My Cameroonian boy will be getting trials with Wolves..and if successful,he won't be at Wolves for the 1st 2 years...he will be shipped to Sweden or Belgium to a feeder club...before training fulltime at Wolves..now the question is does our local youth mentally strong enough to endure that ? Its a fact none of our current national team players are good enough to play there..ITS A FACT ! but if these teams saying Malaysia have no youth talent..then thats bullshit as I do know Tottenham Hotspurs is interested in one of our U13 boy that went to Spurs for a training camp. Unless both clubs go all out to find talents and get them to train fulltime in their system, then the acquisition of both clubs will have no direct impact on our football. It is just a great money making potential for the owners

Secara logik mmg patut expose youth... tapi if any of the seniors dpt main in England, sudah pasti jd pemangkin/pembakar semangat utk junior berusaha kearah yang sama... time Norwich City tu citer lama... players kita dh byk improve. We really need this break. Hopefully TF & TG boleh realisasikan...

SALAM 1MALAYSIA

Salam,

Kalau tak, warga kita kena pi daftar program 6P kat sana... hahahah

AND COACH WAN, some words for you. Cardiff are interested in your Cameroonian boy, and want to bring him over, but he has so many passport issues, how do we solve that? Dont simply post comments saying we dont care about football development. If we dont care, then dont play in our league. Besides the aim was never to train Malaysian kids. The aim was to train people like you so that you can train our kids better. Did you even listen in on our coaching sessions?

thats why we start from the roots

It's a pity to read comment such as Coach Wan's. I don't pity the predicament, I pity his mentality actually. Sweeping the responsibility to someone else. I agree with Cardiff Fan that the coaches here need more training. First and foremost the grassroot coaches are the eyes and ears for future development. They need to be better equip to identify and groom raw talents. Primary school teachers is one best example. They see these kids everyday and some of them manage and train the school team but unfortunately they don't have the tools to further develope these talents other than what have been taught to them in teacher's training college. And having coaches from abroad to train these grassroot coaches should be encouraged. Be realistic, these foreign coaches don't have much time to spend here. Seeing these kids playing one off or a couple of matches is not a good way to access players. Waht about shaping their mentality and getting rid of what I call 'Nasi Lemak' mentality. This is the responsibility of local grassroot coaches.

As for local fans asking TF to send some talented Malaysian footballers? How talented are they? From which or whose point of view we value their talent? We have to be realistic. Someone we think 'talented' might not be 'talented' from their point of view. These are professional clubs. Manage by professionals and 'played' by professionals. Everything are based on merit. If they're not up to standard, they have no business to be there.

We continue harping FAM to leave the team under the care of the coach without any interference from the association. And here we're asking TF the owner to bring Malaysian talent. Guys, please walk the talk and be realistic. At this moment we don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure out that we dont have any talent to merit an invitation from QPR. 5 or 10 years...maybe.

Just my 2 cents

Maaf yee... setuju atau tidak kita kena tengok semua aspek... sorry to say la... macam mana la bola sepak nak maju... terlalu banyak masalah.. masalah yang dicipta oleh kita sendiri...
peringkat akar umbi pun da banyak masalah... contohnya pilih kasih.. kat peringkat umur banyak yang berlaku.. from school level to district to state and national underage, sapa yang jadi coach, seboleh2 nak bawak seberapa ramai player from his side.. apa citer dgn bakat budak? diaorg deny bakat semata - mata nak budak diaorg yang mewakili satu - satu level..
Apa jadi?

Malaysian must first understand on how are we running football in our country... before we can expect to be given a chance big time..

We need to revamp the the whole of our grass-root development at all level before we can seek attachment or stint.

We lack uniformity in our development, especially in schools. We lack experts in character building. The teachers and coaches at this level don't even understand their related role when conducting session, which is to mould them character wise before they could excel in soccer..

Why are we still delaying this revamp? its so clear to us that our school system has failed miserably..
FAM too failed miserably for the past 25 years by producing low standard coaches for the country.
I can debate with anyone from FAM related to this matter.

We need to correct our weaknesses and short-comings in our system and development before we can seek help from others. We need to prepare our young generation with the right attitude and ethics, which is the core point in everything we do before we seek the help of others. (TEPUK DADA TANYA SELERA)

bro rizal...selamat hariraya bro...berkenaan tpik ni...aku xrase TF betul2x serius nak bawak safee ke QPR..dia cuma memastikan saham dia xjatuh je tu...kalau betul2x dia nak majukan bola sepak dia boleh buat masa air asia jadi penaja myteam dulu...tp semua org tau TF ni more toward business...bila saham myteam merosot dia tinggal kan myteam terkapai2x tanpa asas utk mendapatkan duit...sama seperti QPR ni...bila saham QPR melonjak sure dia akan jual semua saham dia...

but...for cardiff owner yg sebelom ni xramai pun kenal...beliau dah bina youth club kat malaysia sebelum dia beli cardiff lg...pembelian cardiff hanya utk melengkapkan usaha beliau...dan anak beliau juga bermain bola dgn kelantan president team rasenya...ni barulah dikatakan nak naikkan mutu bola sepak
