Tunku Majid making a comeback?

Come Oct 30, Tunku Abdul Majid Idris Sultan Iskandar could well be making a comeback to the Malaysian Hockey Federation (MHF).

A few State HAs are toying with the idea of nominating the Johor prince who served as deputy president of MHF from December 2006 to October 2008 for the No 2 post. The incumbent deputy president is Nur Azmi Ahmad.

Azmi beat Tunku Majid by a 12-vote margin in the last elections which saw the latter's brother-in-law Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah being installed as the ninth MHF president after George Oehlers, E.B. David, Herman de Souza, Tun Abdul Razak Hussein, Tun Hussein Onn, Sultan Azlan Shah, Raja Nazrin Shah and Tan Sri Anwar Mohd Nor.

The incumbent vice-presidents are Datuk Dr S.S. Cheema, Datuk Rahim Ariff, Datuk Sri Che Khalib Mohamed Noh and M. Gobinathan.

The term of office-bearers will be four years now since the proposals to the amendments pertaining to the appointments of secretary, treasurer and the term of office were accepted unanimously in MHF's EGM recently.
