Banking on futsal

For the sixth year running, AmBank Group will be the official title sponsor for the 6th edition of the AmBank Group-Inter Financial Institutions Futsal Tournament 2009/2010. This was announced at a cheque presentation ceremony held at Bangunan AmBank Group, Kuala Lumpur recently.

At the presentation ceremony, Syed Anuar Syed Ali, Director, Group Public Affairs, AmBank Group presented a mock cheque to Mokhlis Maizan, President of the National Banks Sports Council.

“Futsal is a sport that is close to our hearts and we are pleased to continue as the main sponsor for the 6th AmBank Group-Inter Financial Institutions Futsal Tournament 2009/2010. Futsal is a popular sports amongst the public and also staff of financial institution, hence we are delighted to lend our support to a healthy sporting activity that is enjoyed by the masses,” said Syed Anuar.

This year, a record of 72 teams from Financial Institutions have signed up to vie for the AmBank Group Futsal Cup.

AmBank Group’s sponsorship for this edition is worth RM25,000 and the tournament proper will be held on 16-17 January 2010 at Sports Planet, Subang Jaya.

The 6th AmBank Group Inter Financial Institutions Futsal Tournament 2009 is organised by the National Banks Sports Council and sanctioned by the Kuala Lumpur Football Association (KLFA).

There will be three categories in the tournament, comprising of Open, Ladies and Veteran (over 40 & above).
