Kolumku mengenai Ahmad Shakir

Semalam pun, dia score lawan Kelantan(kalau tak silap).

Japan stint offers hope for youngsters

by Tan Yo-Hinn 04:46 AM Mar 07,

2012SINGAPORE - Six teenage footballers from the Singapore Sports School will leave this Friday for Japan to train with the youth teams of J-League side Albirex Niigata.

The stint, a collaboration between the Sports School and the Japanese club's satellite team Albirex Niigata (Singapore), could be the shop window for them to earn trials with the J-League side.

The six - 15-year-olds Zharfan Rohaizad and Andin Addie Djayady, 16-year-olds Adam Swandi and Amirul Adli, and 17-year-olds Muhaimin Suhaimi and Hazim Faiz Hassan - were unveiled yesterday at a media conference at the Sports School's Woodlands campus.

Speaking afterwards, Albirex Niigata (Singapore) chairman Daisuke Korenaga told Today that although the likelihood is slim that the young footballers will be offered trials at the end of the 10-day stint, they are already on the J-League side's radar.

"We saw some of them at last year's (Canon) Lion City Cup, and they have very good potential," said Korenaga.

"Albirex would like to have Singaporean players but it also depends on how they develop in the future. If they do well (during this stint), there is a good chance.

"They are the only players from another country to have this chance to train with the club. They have the potential."

Midfielder Muhaimin and forward Hazim were part of Singapore's under-16 side that lost to Brazil's Flamengo in last year's Canon Lion City Cup final at the Jalan Besar Stadium, with Adam and Amirul in the national under-15 side that beat Juventus 4-0 to finish third in the same tournament.

The 10-day trip costs over S$20,000, with the E W Barker Endowment Fund covering about 80 per cent of the expenses.

The attachment has been arranged by leading sports brand adidas, sponsors of the Sports School's football academy, and Albirex Niigata, while All Nippon Airways have provided special air fares.

"If this stint goes smoothly, we could do this annually and include the coaches as well," said the Sports School assistant director (sports) Eric Song.

The six were picked based on their track record from the school's 71-strong football academy.

In Japan, the boys will train up to 10 times, once or twice daily, with their respective age-group counterparts in Albirex Niigata's under-15, 16 and 17 youth teams and Japan Soccer College.

They will also attend the club's opening 2012 J-League clash against Omiya Ardija at the 42,300-seat Big Swan Stadium on March 17, participate in some of the club's other sports including basketball and baseball, and visit some of Niigata's cultural attractions.

"This trip will give us the opportunity to assess them," said Sports School head coach Teng Wei Ken, 42, who will accompany the players. "I'm keen to see what's the gap between our players and theirs, and if our kids can compete. I hope to bring back some new ideas to implement in our academy."

Those in the know have touted Adam as a future national star, and the midfielder has set his sights on playing in either Japan or South Korea.

"Japanese players are known for their discipline, so that's one aspect I would like to pick up during my stint," he said. "My dream is to get into the J-League or K-League. They are the best leagues in Asia and we've to succeed there first if we are to think about Europe."

Azrai khor seorang j.latih yg average sahaja dlm penilaian aku. Kalau nak kata bagus, AFCCL final round boleh ceritalah.

Sebelum aku nak cita pasal striker2 kita, aku nak sangat cita dulu pasal coach2 yg top dlm MSL-Itu diorang cakap bukan aku cakap.

In the first place, we only have coaches good only for sea region...
Our coaches are lacking in so many areas in coaching aspect. The ability to instill the footballing knowledge accordingly (methodology)
and the universal of playing football is failed to be seen.

At times we can also notice MSL coaches of not knowing or understanding their role as a coach.-This we have to blame FAM. They have some very very low standard coaching instructors for the past 20 years. C license is the fundamental of football and we have gone miserably wrong in producing so many coffee shop coaches-I would love to go into details in person with all the MSL coaches if given the space...hehehe

So, talking about MSL strikers, are they truly capable? are they well equipped with all the required physical and mental skills?-They only know physical skills, but lacking tremendously in mental skills.

Mental skills adalah sesuatu keperluan semasa. Berbeza dgn mind skills. Skills of the mind melibatkan pembentukan(moulding) melibatkan jangkamasa panjang.
Mampukah j.latih2 dlm MSL memahami perkara tersebut...

Bagi aku, pemain2 LIGA M adalah pemain2 low and sub standard akibat drp kegagalan Jurulatih2 dlm developing selama ini...
