Four years ago...

For the FIFA World Cup in Germany in 2006, the sports desk of the Malay Mail was given a lot of freedom to feature and highlight the tournament from a different perspective.

Mustapha Kamaruddin, sports editor, picked Argentina to win

Ghaz Ramli and Tony Yee picked the Netherlands

Loose cannon wrote Forza Italia...

and Italy were the eventual champions

Having covered the FIFA World Youth Cup in 1997, loose cannon perused the teams of 2006

and discovered his own squad of 1997

Loose cannon helped conceptualise the team of the pre-tournament

and wrote a column under the nom de plume Herr Blitzkrieg

and conceptualised and visualised this graphic for head-to-head
