Since hockey was the domain of Mustapha Kamaruddin (Moose) and later Satwant Singh Dhaliwal and Graig Nunis at the Malay Mail, seldom was I given the task to cover the sport.
But I played the role of sidekick to Moose in covering the 1997 World Cup qualifiers, given access to watch hockey matches during the 1998 Commonwealth Games and was an occasional spectator over the years.
I just wish to share some of the quotes on my twitter timeline, with memories of enjoying Deepavali delicacies cooked by Satwant's late mother in Tampin with the late Chua, Mirnawan Nawawi and the whole Malay Mail sports desk embedded on my mind.
A tribute to Chua http://t.co/3BoneYuYbF

Satwant's suggestion to retire the No 3 jersey was later picked up by the Star and the MHC.
Rest in peace, Chua Boon Huat. You will be sorely missed. Irreplaceable.
